Our government protects itself. They are their first priority, not the American people. They are afraid to be entirely truthful for fear of losing their positions of power, prestige, and financial gain. Mueller was not the first to hide some facts which would have jeopardized the future of our government. It has failed the American people for decades and change in mandatory.
After the heavily redacted report was released last Thursday, I and thousands of other politicos had more questions than answers. Hillary Clinton spoke about the damning accusations against Trump yesterday.
“I think there’s enough there that any other person who had engaged in those acts would certainly have been indicted,” Clinton said while speaking at the Time 100 Summit, citing the “the rule in the Justice Department that you can’t indict a sitting president.”
“The whole matter of obstruction was very directly sent to the Congress,” Clinton added. “And if you read that part of the report, it could not be clearer.”
I ask, “why can’t a sitting president be indicted.” The excuse has always been that “he’s too busy running the country.” I call “bullshit.” Trump offers proof that this reasoning is entirely incorrect. Trump is busy watching television and playing golf, not caring for the needs and wishes of the American people; in other words, “his job.”
There is no doubt that Trump is violating the Emoluments Clause every day. He has used his position to increase his foreign business interests. This action is tantamount to “insider trading.” No other “businessman” can grant the “favors” a president can. Trump has also violated the Constitution by attempting to deny free speech to his many detractors, suppressing votes, and supporting one religion while denying the rights of others to freely practice the religion of their choice. According to the Mueller report, he has committed obstruction of justice at least 10 times. Although his minions refused to take the action he demanded, 10 attempts demand punishment.
Trump should be indicted. A simpler way would be to do the right thing and remove him from office with the use of Article 25. He has proven multiple times that he is mentally incompetent and unfit to lead our nation.
