Trump’s life is a history of lies and debauchery. Not once in his life has he taken the time to do something positive for another human being. His actions prove that he has no respect for women. The truth is that he has no use for them unless they are engaged with him in some form of depravity. The truth is that Trump is not waging a war against women as some might believe, he thinks of them as objects, not people. He is simply making another desperate effort to secure his base for the 2020 election.
Any intelligent man or woman is aware of the fact that if Trump’s lips are moving or his thumbs are pecking, he’s lying. When Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers stated that he would veto a bill introduced by Republican state legislators labeled “born alive,” another effort to halt legal abortions, Trump responded with one of the most egregious lies in his pitiful life.
According to Trump, “The baby is born. The mother meets with the doctor. They take care of the baby. They wrap the baby beautifully, and then the doctor and the mother determine whether or not they will execute the baby. I don’t think so.”
The truth is that issues including abortion and same-sex marriage became political issues when the “Christian religious right” took control of the Republican Party. Both have no relationship to government, and both are protected by the Constitution. Personal issues have no place in the ugly world of politics, and Trump just offered proof that his party is insensitive and will continue to wage its war on women.
Men have sought control over women throughout history. Anti-abortion groups are led by old, white men who falsely claim to be Christians. The truth is that they are using religion to advance their personal ambitions.
Finding a real “Christian” is rare. Few I have met in my life believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ. Too many are judgmental, bigoted, and harbor hatred for others who refuse to agree with their “beliefs.”
The truth is that America is becoming more diverse and younger every day. Change is coming, and the sooner those who live in the past get out of the way, America will achieve the goals of our founding fathers.
As my generation of baby boomers leave their earthly bonds America is becoming younger. The average age of all Americans today is 37.8 years of age. Until the 116th congress was sworn in on January 3, 2019, the average age of our nation’s government was 60 years of age. Government must represent the citizens of a nation. It is imperative that younger men and women are elected to represent all Americans. Women continue to dominate our population, 51-49 percent, and congress must reflect that fact.
Born in 1946 I feel today that my country has been taken away from me. My America was compassionate, understanding, and forgiving. My country had leaders who were intelligent and had “class.” They never personally attacked other men and women. Until 2017 my country was growing up. Racism was forced to hide under rocks or in the slime at the bottom of a swamp. My America had a government which supported the needs and wishes of all Americans, not just one-percent. My country had legislators who had the courage to do the right thing.
We can return to a nation of progressive and intelligent people; we can take our country back. If we elect younger men and women who will serve all 320+ million Americans and address the issues important to us; white supremacy, sexism, healthcare, education, climate change, domestic white terrorism, income inequality the growing opioid crisis, homophobia, and other problems which affect all Americans, and rid our nation of the fascist in the White House, the United States will finally have an opportunity to be a great country.
Lastly and most importantly, let’s support the women of our nation. Their lives have been controlled by men for far too long. The health and welfare of their bodies and minds belong to them, not to men. Time for real change in America.
