Trump hates censorship, unless it protects him from being removed from the televisions in the White House. In another cowardly tweet, Trump attacked Facebook and Twitter for blocking hate speech from its content. Twitter followed Facebook’s lead Friday in reaction to Facebook’s recent crackdown of conspiracy theorists, a prominent anti-Semite, and other far-right figures, saying that he’s “monitoring and watching closely.”
“We’ve always banned individuals or organizations that promote or engage in violence and hate, regardless of ideology. The process for evaluating potential violators is extensive and it is what led us to our decision to remove these accounts today,” Facebook said in a statement to Fox News.
Trump is angry. As the leader of the white supremacy movement, he believes his followers should be allowed to spread hatred wherever and whenever they choose.
He’s right. If real Americans can spread peace, love, and compassion through social media, why can’t his fascist friends spread their hateful and violent message?
“I am continuing to monitor the censorship of AMERICAN CITIZENS on social media platforms,” Trump tweeted. “This is the United States of America – and we have what’s known as FREEDOM OF SPEECH! We are monitoring and watching, closely!!”
This leads me to a valid complaint. Why did Trump allow censorship of the Robert Mueller report?
Let’s be perfectly clear; this country does not belong to the president or members of either political party; it belongs to you and me. The Constitution begins with “We the People,” it does not say “We the Government.” We have a moral and Constitutional right to read every word in the 480-page report with zero redactions.
Any time the truth is hidden, there is something to hide. The truth never harms anyone but the guilty. This is why Trump is desperate to hide his financial records from the American people. If he was honest, and had not committed felonies before or after his presidency, he would be open and honest and allow the people to learn whether or not their “president is a crook;” to quote Richard Nixon.
In 2013, while in Moscow, Trump and Putin planned the destruction of the United States. Their goals were to destroy democracy, ruin our economy by creating a two-tiered society of rich and poor, and divide our nation morally. Mission nearly accomplished.
With Trump everything is one way; his way. Censorship is another way of hiding the truth. However, hate speech has a singular goal; to incite violence against others. This is unacceptable and preventing these anti-Americans from harming innocent Americans is admirable.
Younger Americans do not watch the “news” on television. They know that it is inaccurate, filled with horrific tales of man’s hatred of other men, and excludes stories of good and compassion. I joined them on November 9, 2016. After Trump was given a free pass by the media for nearly 18 months, I found no reason to pay attention to millionaires who are more concerned with advertising dollars than the truth.
Tell everyone; “The Truth Lives Here.”
