A Military Trained for Modern Warfare Cannot Win a War in the Middle East

The Russians waged a war in Afghanistan for 10 long years. They left with their tales between their legs. The U.S. military remains in Afghanistan. Our military has been there since 2001. In October we will have been engaged in military action for 18 years; our longest war by far, and victory appears impossible.
We also lost the war in Iraq. When our military pulled out of the country all American forces had accomplished was to destabilize the area and allow the creation of ISIS.
The truth is an army trained to fight with modern weapons and modern tactics cannot win a war in the Middle East.
Trump has removed all advisers who understand our enemies from his staff. He now depends on hawks such as John Bolton for advice. What is most interesting is that Bolton, like Trump, avoided serving in the Vietnam War. Both men are cowards but are more than willing to send others to die in their place.
Currently there is no Secretary of Defense. Patrick M. Shanahan is the acting Secretary but has not been confirmed for the position.
Republican presidents and their political puppets are eager to engage our nation in unwinnable wars. The truth is that the United States has lost every war in which our military was involved since the Korean conflict. Our old military leaders fail to understand that they are not fighting men who are armed with guns or missiles, they are fighting men armed with ideologies. Right or wrong, they are willing to die for their beliefs. Our armies are fighting for corporations and politicians.
Trump has allowed unnecessary aggressive action to be taken in the Persian Gulf. Iran will not back down; they cannot be bullied into submission. Their leaders are religious zealots, and their armies will fight to the death.
One of the biggest failures and morons in the Republican Party is Tom Cotton. The Senator from Arkansas claims that we would win a war with Iran in days. Cotton is obviously not a student of history.
The invasion of Iraq began in 2003 and lasted until late 2011. This bad decision by a Republican president cost the lives of 4,424 Americans, and injured 31,952, many of them seriously. The Iranian army is far better trained and equipped. Some experts claim that a war with Iran would make the Iraqi war look like a “walk in the park.”
I have a question. Could this be a ploy by Trump to, first, end investigations into his criminal and treasonous activities, and, second, would he take our nation to war under false pretenses to win reelection? Voters are hesitant to change leaders during wartime.
Trump cares only about Donald Trump and would do anything to accomplish his personal ambitions.
