The House was poised to vote unanimously on a $19.1 billion disaster relief bill. However, another obstructionist Republican from Texas, Chip Roy, objected. The following is his fake reasoning.
“I’m here today primarily because if I do not object Congress will have passed into law a bill that spends $19 billion of taxpayer money without members of Congress being present here in our nation’s capital to vote on it,” Roy said on the House floor.
Then came the truth. Once more it’s all about Trump’s “wall.”
“Secondly, it’s a bill that includes nothing to address the clear national emergency and humanitarian crisis we face at our southern border,” Roy said.
The bill addresses real necessities, but not a wall which can be breached or a tunnel burrowed under it.
Trump wastes taxpayer money all of the time. Most recently he signed another executive order to bailout farmers; the amount was $19 billion. This brings the total to $33 billion. This would be entirely unnecessary if Trump had not made a unilateral decision to place tariffs on imports. China retaliated, and we are now in a trade war with the world’s second largest economy.
Trump is a disaster, but his cowardly and hypocritical party is no better. Their choice to rubber stamp every vile proposal by the orange man has harmed American workers while handing the wealthy and large corporations billions of dollars. Our national treasury is leaking billions of dollars and the deficit is growing at a faster pace than during George W. Bush’s administration.
Roy is a typical Republican politician. His fuhrer, his party, and reelection are the only issues he is willing to fight for. Once again, it’s f**k the American people.
We must rid our nation of the people’s enemies. All Republicans must be voted out of office on November 3, 2020. It’s time for all Americans to be the priority of our elected officials. Please vote and save your country.
