Trump is complaining about the House. Another Trump lie states that they are doing nothing.
“Their heart is not into Infrastructure, lower drug prices, pre-existing conditions and our great Vets,” Trump tweeted. “All they are geared up to do, six committees, is squander time, day after day, trying to find anything which will be bad for me.”
Sorry to do this again, but this is a blatant lie, Donny Boy. Since January 3, 2019 the Democratically controlled house has sponsored 51 bills; 49 which have passed. Most have been blocked by the Republican controlled Senate. Obstructionist is spelled R-E-P-U-B-L-I-C-A-N. They’ve been saying “no” since January of 2009.
For Trump’s first two years his party controlled both houses of congress; nothing got done, with the exception of what he called “tax reform,” which was nothing but tax breaks for the one-percent and corporations, and a criminal justice reform bill which reduced prison sentences in federal institutions for minor, non-violent crimes. The latter was passed with bipartisan approval.
Looking back to 1985, the beginning of Ronald Reagan’s second term, Republicans have proven that they cannot govern effectively. I have lived through 13 presidents, 12 of whom I remember. Trump’s administration is the least experienced and least qualified in history. He refuses to learn how to be the president. His party bows to his every demand, including actions which violate the Constitution and ethics laws. This makes Trump’s the worst Republican administration in America’s history; therefore; the worst of all time.
I have relatives who believe Trump’s lies. They will always support any man or woman who has an “R” next to their name on the ballot. They choose to be ignorant. Facts don’t matter to them. This makes me extremely sad.
I began voting in 1968 at the age of 22. I knew long before that I was an Independent, and continue to believe that both parties have too many personal ambitions to perform the jobs for which they were elected.. I continue to vote for the candidate whose policies are nearer my own. Sadly, I have found it impossible to vote for a Republican since 2000 in federal elections. These Republicans in name only in Washington are unworthy of my valuable vote. They do not serve me, my family or my friends. I consider Mitch McConnell, Chuck Grassley, Ted Cruz, and many other Republicans traitors to the United States of America. They continue to place profit before people, and that’s unacceptable. They are also blatantly racist and bigoted. Term limits have become mandatory.
In 2000, I knew that George W. Bush would be the worst president in American history; he was, until 2017. That year, 12 years ago, forced me to register as a Democrat; I was forced to or would not have been allowed to vote in the primary.
Not all Democrats receive my support. Both parties have far too many old, white men, whose time was over years ago. I was thrilled in 2018 to see the results of the midterm election. Many younger candidates, and a record number of women were chosen by voters in local, state, and federal elections.
For over 30 years both parties moved to the right. Moderates became a rarity, and Liberals were shoved in a corner. Influenced by younger Americans, Democrats are returning to their roots and moving back to the days of FDR and left of center.
The controlling force in the GOP is composed of extremist who have moved so far to the right they are entirely dysfunctional. They are destroying the dreams of our founding fathers.
Make it your personal goal to vote on November 3, 2020; this is your country, not theirs.
Tell everyone; “The Truth Lives Here.”
