An Escalating Trade War the Result of Trump’s Folly

Donald Trump is a failure. He didn’t become incompetent after his inauguration; his entire life is a façade. The lie that he received a “one-million-dollar” loan from his father, Fred, was debunked. Over a period of years, he received an estimated $421 million. By 1995 he was broke. The Saudi Royal Family bailed Trump out with investments into his business “empire.”
Again in 2005 Trump’s businesses were facing bankruptcy. After the first “Miss Universe Pageant” in Moscow, Trump returned to New York where his real estate business began to flourish. Just put the clues together, including the fact that Russia made multiple attempts to assist with Trump’s Electoral College win in 2016, and the answer is clear.
With no accomplishments in two years and more than four months, there is a long list of failures by the egomaniac in the White House. Possibly his most egregious mistake was a rash and unilateral decision to impose tariffs on imports from the European Union, Japan, China, and other nations. He claimed that the trade deficit would be reduced.
Trump was warned by fiscal experts that tariffs are an antiquated idea which failed in the past. The first quarter after the tariffs were applied revealed that the trade deficit had increased by seven percent.
Trump attempted to bully China into submission by increasing both the number of imports on his list of tariffs, and the percentage. This egotistical and ignorant attempt by one of the world’s biggest failures resulted in a trade war; a trade war which is escalating today.
China has the second largest economy in the world and has indicated that the bully in the White House will not succeed. Trump didn’t listen. Bullying is the only form of “negotiation” he understands.
“We advise the U.S. side not to underestimate the Chinese side’s ability to safeguard its development rights and interests. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!” the People’s Daily said in a commentary titled “United States, don’t underestimate China’s ability to strike back.”
The last time the Chinese used the phrase “don’t say we didn’t warn you,” was in 1962 before China’s border war with India and ahead of the 1979 China-Vietnam War.
China retaliated with tariffs on American exports. The latest fear is that China will restrict or eliminate its supply of ‘earth minerals. These minerals are crucial for use in iPhones, electric cars, and advanced precision weapons. The Pentagon is already struggling to find a new source.
The Chinese tabloid Global Times also said Tuesday that China can play the “rare earths card” and that it’s “seriously considering” the move.
Trump’s trade war has already devastated American farmers. He has signed two orders bailing out farmers for a total of $30 billion. Trump continues to be the most costly president in American history.
His misnamed “tax reform” was nothing but additional tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires, and a huge gift to large corporations. The result is a trillion dollar increase in the national deficit. He and his Klan waste more than $16 million every month for personal use. Trump has made Air Force One his personal aircraft. The cost to operate his toy is approximately $200,000 per hour.
As he has done before, Trump underestimated his adversary. He cannot win this war with China. Sadly, his ego and arrogance will never accept the truth.
Tell everyone; The Truth Lives Here.”
