Obviously, I learned a new word. I don’t always enjoy changes in our vernacular, but “woke” is a valuable expression which replaces an entire phrase. Without a long explanation is means being informed and refusing to be in denial.
If you watch television news for all or your information, you are like you illegitimate president and are not “woke.” If you read this blog and others including “The Daily Kos,” “The Guardian,” “The Daily Beast,” and others which offer truth based on facts, you can claim to be “woke.”
I began this article with the intention of once again listing Trump’s many, many mistakes, and his constant lies, but I want to get to the real problem. The entire Republican Party in name only, under the failed “leadership” of Mitch McConnell, surrendered its power to Trump on January 20, 2017. They decided to relinquish all principles and morals, and refused to serve the American people while bowing to the fuhrer in the White House.
If the right-wing had not abandoned the United States of America, Trump would not be in England today embarrassing America. Trump’s agenda is unconstitutional, regressive, and dangerous to our nation and the world.
The once “Grand Old Party” is now the “Party of Trump” and has surrendered its dignity and is no longer deserving of respect from the American people.
If you read me regularly, you are “woke.” I promise to always offer the truth and never “alternative facts.” Therefore, when I tell you that Republicans do not care about the American people, I am not exaggerating. Their actions, and more importantly inaction, prove that they only care about voters when they are running for reelection. They are owned by big business whose lobbyists give millions of dollars to the campaign funds of Republican candidates across America. Their party and personal ambitions take precedence over the needs and desires of the American people.
If you doubt me, read the latest polls on healthcare, education, term limits, the Electoral College, same-sex marriage, women’s rights, yes, including abortion. What we, the people, want is of no concern to the right side of the aisle.
Please vote on November 3, 2020; this is your country, not theirs.
Tell everyone; “The Truth Lives Here.”
