Everything that is wrong with our government stems from the intentional failures of Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. For more than 30 years McConnell has been a self-serving politician who ignored the people of Kentucky and the people of the United States of America.

The Republican Party began to exist in name only in January of 2009. McConnell stood before the media and promised that his party would do nothing until the black man was removed from the White House. He continues to prevent senate Republicans from doing the jobs for which they were elected.

The House passed more than 100 bills which would positively affect the American people since January, and McConnell has refused to allow a senate vote on any of them. He must go. This old man is the enemy of every American.

In November of 2020 he will have a credible challenger for his seat in the senate.

Amy McGrath is a former marine fighter pilot. In 2018 she narrowly lost a battle for a seat in the House to incumbent, Andy Barr. She recently announced her candidacy for the United States Senate in 2020.

In her announcement she tells a story about writing a letter to McConnell when she was 13 and never received a response. She has never forgotten his indifference.

“Everything that’s wrong in Washington had to start someplace. How did it come to this, that even within our own families, we can’t talk to each other about the leaders of our country anymore without anger and blame? Well, it started with this man, who was elected a lifetime ago and who has, bit by bit, year by year, turned Washington into something we all despise. Where dysfunction and chaos are political weapons. Where budgets, and health care, and the Supreme Court are held hostage. A place where ideals go to die. I’m running for Senate because it shouldn’t be like this.”

McConnell is the sole reason our government is dysfunctional. With Trump’s illegitimate election the two old men began a process to destroy democracy in America. They have destroyed the functionality of government, and ignored the rule of law. These two old traitors intentionally stacked the federal courts and the Supreme Court with fascists who refuse to support the Constitution.

I make an earnest plea to the women of Kentucky. Support Ms. McGrath. She will help bring positive change to our nation. Old, white men like McConnell have harmed your state and our country for far too long. McConnell is one of the reasons Kentucky is one of the poorest states in America. You; we; can do better and we deserve the best. That has never been Mitch McConnell.
