When Trump is impeached by the House, will the senate put him on trial? Hell no! McConnell will protect his fuhrer. So, why make the effort?

The process of impeachment will force Trump to answer questions directly, and other information about his past and present would be exposed. This is important for one reason; Trump lies constantly and his falsehoods would be exposed. Everything Trump is hiding from the American people would be available for inspection.

Some Democrats are frightened about the act of impeaching Trump. It’s all about fear of losing elections. To them I say, “follow the ‘squad.’” Do the right thing.

I can remember when Democrats were bold and doing the right thing was all that mattered. Those were the times when all Americans flourished; not just the wealthiest one percent.

America is at its finest when we do the right thing and ignore politics. Politics ruins nations. Our two-party system is responsible for a government which is totally dysfunctional. Partisanship prevents the two things necessary to maintain an effective and intelligent democratic government; deliberation and compromise.

The only example which means anything and is demonstrative of one party’s complete failure and its refusal to serve the American people is action not taken by the senate since January 3, 2019.

The House passed more than 100 bills in the last seven months. Senate Majority Leader, and a man too old to stand on two feet, Mitch McConnell, has refused to bring a single bill to the floor for a vote. The reason; these bills would have positive results for the American people, not for special interests. McConnell doesn’t want the public to know that his party is against anything which increases the quality of life for the majority.

Let’s change the atmosphere in Washington. On November 3, 2020, let’s elect progressive, not regressive candidates who are under the age of 60, do not introduce religion into their campaigns, more women who continue to dominate our nation’s population, 51-49, and more diverse candidates. This will make America great.
