I read an article in “Salon” today written by Chauncey Devega. It was remindful of what I have been saying and writing for the last nine years. An American is a naturally born citizen or an immigrant who was naturalized under federal law. We are all the same with one exception; a president must be natural born.

First, it is not news that the Republican Party is composed of racists and bigots. The only difference is that because Trump is the leader of white nationalism and is living in the White House they have become emboldened. They support his vile policies and actions of a fascist, not because he is their illegitimate president, but because they agree with him. Anyone who believed that racism was a declining force in America has not been paying attention to the actions of today’s Republican Party in name only for the last 30+ years. They fear our country’s growing diversity and the fact that all-whites are dying and the result is a changing and more beautiful America.

The “war on terror” was blatant racism. The Patriot Act was disguised as an effort to prevent terrorist attacks inside our shores, but in fact is a racist and unconstitutional law. Our nation’s justice system is the most racist in the world of all developed nations. The only other group of Americans to receive such prejudicial attacks are women of all races. The Republican Party’s war on women, minorities, and the working class is undeniable and reprehensive.

Trump’s recent attacks on “the squad,” the nickname given to four freedom fighters in the House, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were more than racist. They are attempts by your illegitimate president to incite more fear, hatred, and violence into America’s current atmosphere. If you happen to glance at social media you know it’s working. Weak-minded and ill-informed Americans believe Trump’s lies and America continues to be a divided nation in danger of extermination.  

Even a cursory examination of the few cabinet members and top advisors who remain in Trump’s administration reveals a group of millionaires and billionaires whose history is filled with acts of racism and bigotry. Betsy DeVos, Steve Mnuchin, Wilbur Ross, Stephen Miller, Mick Mulvaney, Rick Perry, Mike Pompeo, and others including Mike Pence have a long history of racism, bigotry, and prejudice. They compose a part of the “white nationalist mafia.”

The Trump family, beginning with Trump’s grandfather, Friedrich Trump, who entered our nation as an immigrant in 1869 from Bavaria, have a long history of racism Donny Boy’s father, Fred, demanded racial profiling of applicants seeking rental of his New York apartment buildings. The Trump Klan has represented the privileges granted to all-whites for over one hundred and forty years.

Never forget that the “party of Lincoln” does not exist today. There is no similarity between the Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln and today’s Republicans in name only. Todays racists would have resisted the Emancipation Proclamation and joined the southern forces during the civil war.

The “South” never needed to rise again; it continues to exist  today, and several other states, including Texas, Arizona, Indiana, and Ohio have joined them in the support of the worst of America.
