By now everyone who pays attention to Washington is aware that Mitch McConnell is a traitor to America. He serves Fuhrer Donald Trump, his party, and himself while ignoring the needs and wishes of all real Americans.

Although he swore to ‘preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution,’ it is clear that he was lying. The most important right guaranteed by the first amendment is our right to vote, and we expect our elections to be fair and honest. Elections since 2000 prove that Republicans cannot win unless the election is “rigged” by their own efforts or by a foreign nation.

Mitch McConnell has allowed the senate to approve efforts to suppress voter turnout, and is now preventing efforts to ensure our 2020 election is not tampered with. Several states are seeking additional funding to prevent Russia and other nations from deciding the outcome of the election as they did in 2016. McConnell simply said “f**k no.” He knows that Trump needs a lot of help to win reelection and that’s his only concern.

After the tragedy of 2016 which allowed the worst candidate in history to live in public housing at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, the Help America Vote Act was passed by congress. Only 380 million dollars was appropriated to help all 50 states prepare for the 2020 election. States realize that this amount is insufficient to protect our most precious right. McConnell has vowed to block one more dollar in funding. However, McConnell strongly supported billions of dollars in tax cuts for the wealthy and large corporations. Once again, the Republican Party places profit before people.

McConnell is up for reelection on November 3, 2020. I beg the people of Kentucky to do the right thing and remove this old, dark stain from our government.

The truth is that we need to send all Republicans home and restore democracy and respect to our nation’s government.
