The Mueller report proved that Donald Trump made some serious mistakes; some of which are likely criminal. He was not exonerated, and Robert Mueller said those exact words last Wednesday before Congress. He clearly indicated that he did not charge Trump with a crime because of an obscure and unconstitutional Justice Department rule, stating that a sitting president cannot be indicted.
Acting Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, appeared on “Fox News Sunday,” with Chris Wallace. Mulvaney attempted to mimic Trump by lying about Mr. Mueller’s testimony.
“Mulvaney, like Trump, claimed Mueller’s testimony about his investigation into Russian election meddling had cleared the president of any wrongdoing, and falsely said Mueller had testified that he would ‘absolutely not’ have indicted Trump if he weren’t the president.”
Wallace, one of Fox’ few legitimate journalists, responded.
“No, that’s not what he said,” host Chris Wallace said.
“He said we didn’t because of the OLC, the Office of Legal Counsel guidelines,” Wallace said, referring to a 2000 Justice Department determination that “a sitting President is constitutionally immune from indictment and criminal prosecution.”
Mulvaney proves he is not a good liar when he attempted to cover up his falsehood.
“I actually just think you’re wrong on that,” Mulvaney said.
Once again, Mr. Wallace wasn’t letting him get away with a false claim.
“The record will show what it shows. I promise you, you’re wrong,” Wallace replied.
The important result of the Mueller testimony is that Trump must be impeached. He refuses to be transparent about his finances, and is hiding something sinister in his past which is likely continuing into the present. His numerous constitutional violations, and attempts to obstruct justice are justifiable reasons to begin impeachment hearings.
Richard Nixon said: “The people have a right to know if their president is a crook.
