Every legitimate economist in America has now confirmed that Trump’s “tax reform” is a gift to the wealthy and has already added more than one-trillion dollars to the deficit. Tax cuts for the working class are temporary, but for the super-rich and corporations they are permanent.

I remember Lyin Paul Ryan bragging that he had talked to one woman who received nearly 10 dollars more on her paycheck each week. Of course, mega-corporations like Walmart and Amazon were rewarded with a tax bill of zero dollars.

Trump’s unilateral decision to place tariffs on imports and a resulting trade war with China have added extra cost to everything from clothes, (except for Trump’s suits and ties), to electronics. If you are a working class man or woman, you will be paying much more for the retail items you purchase than the tax cuts you received.

Reports are that the initial minimum increase in retail costs will obliterate nearly all of the tax break for the middle class.

“The last round of tariffs, J.P. Morgan analysts estimate, will bump costs to consumers from $600 after the first two rounds to $1,000. That’s eating up the majority of tax break of about $1,300 from the 2017 tax cuts.”

Can you say “recession.”

The truth is that we have learned since 1981 that Republicans fail with their fiscal policy of “trickle-down economics.” Reagan began the concept during his second term, originally called “supply side” economics, and Bush 41, Bush 43, and now Trump have continued to implement this failed policy.

When Reagan left office in 1989, unemployment was higher than 10 percent and there was a one-trillion-dollar deficit. After Bill Clinton left the White House in 2001 with our nation experiencing a surplus, George W. Bush reinstated trickle-down economics. When President Obama took office in 2009, he inherited two unwinnable wars, trillions of dollars in deficits, and a near depression.

Trump is attempting to destroy the policies of President Obama who left office with a nation in full recovery mode, and its status in the world restored. We cannot allow the most incompetent and illegitimate president in history to continue his destructive efforts. We need an intelligent president with common sense and progressive ideas.

That person is not a 70-year-old man or woman. She will be 56 on election day 2020, and will lead our nation forward. Her name is Kamala Harris. It’s time for a woman president and Senator Harris will crush Trump on November 3, 2020. She will restore dignity, and respect to the office of President of the United States.

Tell everyone “the truth lives here.”
