McConnell Supports McConnell; not the People of Kentucky or the United States

My beloved country has suffered through many tragedies over nearly two decades. In 2001 a new administration ignored the warnings of our top security officials. On September 11, 2001, for the first time since the Revolutionary War, and the War of 1812, an attack was waged against innocent Americans inside our shores by a foreign power. Thousands of lives were lost as the two towers of the World Trade Center collapsed to the ground, a plane crashed into the Pentagon, and another aircraft nosedived into a field in Pennsylvania.

These revolting acts resulted in another preventable tragedy. The President of the United States invaded a sovereign nation in 2003 under false pretenses; made up stories about ‘weapons of mass destruction.’

This and poor fiscal decisions created another tragedy. In 2008 America entered a near depression. The recession was so serious, the Republican president’s successor was forced to bailout our largest financial institutions, and two of the three major automobile manufacturers. Tens-of-thousands of American families lost their homes after the administration refused to oversee the actions of Wall Street.

On November 8, 2016 the greatest tragedy of all occurred when Donald John Trump was gifted the presidency by the Electoral College with the aid of Russian agents, the mainstream media, James Comey and other outside forces.

In between, what might have been an equally horrific tragedy happened in the 2014 midterm elections. Democrats lost control of the Senate. The result was the selection of Mitch McConnell as the Senate Majority Leader. An old, white, self-serving racist had become one of the most powerful men in Washington. His agenda became the agenda of what had become the current ‘Republican Party in name only.’

In January of 2009, it was McConnell who created the “party of no.” He stood before the television cameras and promised that his party would do nothing as long as a black man was living in the White House. He kept that promise. In 2014 it was McConnell who destroyed democracy in Washington. “Moscow Mitch” became a fascist and controlled every action, or should I say ‘inaction’ in the Senate.

It was McConnell who pushed through the confirmation of Trump’s incompetent cabinet. Moscow Mitch forced the confirmation of two extremist Supreme Court Justices, and many more right-wing leaning federal judges. It is Moscow Mitch who destroyed democracy.

Today, with Democrats in control of the House, Moscow Mitch is controlling the future of the American people by serving his personal ambitions and beliefs. More than 200 bills have been passed in the House, but Moscow Mitch will not allow a vote on any of them in the Senate. He is now the biggest traitor in America.

McConnell changed many rules in the Senate to match his own ambitions. Today, Democrats are attempting to end the ‘filibuster.’

This ‘filibuster’ is not the tactic used by Jimmy Stewart in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.” This is a Senate rule which requires 60 out of 100 votes to pass legislation instead of a simple majority. This would reintroduce the necessary process in Washington to perform the jobs for which they were elected. This would reinstate democracy.

But, once again Moscow Mitch opposes the effort and lies about his reasons.

“Yes, the Senate’s design makes it difficult for one party to enact sweeping legislation on its own. Yes, the filibuster makes policy less likely to seesaw wildly with every election,” the Senate majority leader writes. “These are features, not bugs.”

McConnell is the one who voided multiple rules when they displeased the old man. Recently he earned the nickname “Moscow Mitch” because he protected Trump and Russia by refusing to allow a vote which would have increased security to protect our voting process.

If Democrats retake the Senate, Moscow Mitch will lose his power, and Washington will no longer be dysfunctional.

Please save your country and vote on November 3, 2020. This is your country; it does not belong to Moscow Mitch.

Tell everyone, “the truth lives here.”
