In 2008 America’s economy neared another depression. The cost of two unwinnable wars and the greed of Wall Street moved eerily towards the bank failures of 1929. On January 20, 2009, a Democratic president was inaugurated. Barrack Obama chose men and women for his cabinet and closest advisers who were experienced, and extremely qualified for their positions. When he left office in 2017, our nation was in full recovery, and programs and tools were in place to continue the process. America is experiencing the positive effects of these decisions today; but Donald Trump is attempting to destroy these accomplishments.

Every leading economist is predicting a recession within the next two years. Rash and foolhardy policies chosen by Trump without advice from experienced and qualified economists are doomed to fail and the result could be a recession worse than the one which began in 2008.

The greatest difference between Trump’s administration and the challenge which faced President Obama in 2009 is simply ‘staff.’ Trump fails to have a single qualified adviser in the West Wing or on his cabinet. They are mostly failed millionaires and billionaires who have their own goals as part of a presidential administration.

Extraordinary problems required extraordinary people. Betsy DeVos, Steve Mnuchin, Wilbur Ross, William Barr, Mike Pompeo, and the few that remain are woefully unqualified for their positions. The two involved in fiscal policy, Steve Mnuchin and Wilbur Ross are frauds.

Mnuchin made his fortune foreclosing on more homes during the recession than any other banking executive. Ross was head of The Bank of Cyprus; a banking institution controlled by Vladimir Putin.

If you believe that Trump might have the ability to seek advice from Vice-President Mike Pence, who was the Governor of Indiana, you must be aware that Pence’s only focus has been actions against the rights of the LGBTQ community throughout his sad career. He is America’s leading homophobe.

My advice is ‘be ready for the worst.’ I am not a ‘naysayer,’ I don’t believe in negativity. But this administration is totally unqualified to solve our nation’s many problems.

Democrats have proven that they can save America’s economy. When Reagan and Bush 41 failed with their policy of ‘trickle-down economics,’ Bill Clinton saved our nation. When Bush 43 nearly placed America into a recession, Barrack Obama once again rescued our nation. Trump is another in a long line of Republican failures.
