Just a Few of Trump’s Lies about the Economy and his “Accomplishments”

Allowing a corrupt and failed businessman to win the Electoral College and become the leader of the world’s largest economy was a mortal sin. His economic policies are his alone, and have failed miserably. His misnamed “tax reform” was a gift to the wealthy and corporations, and increased the national debt. His ill-advised tariffs created a trade war with the second largest economy, China, and will be the reason our nation will face another recession while a Republican president is in office.

Trump’s mistakes are many, but he has refused to accept responsibility for any of them. Here are just a few of the economic failures caused by Trump’s many follies. “You’ll get so tired of winning, you’ll say, please; stop.” Is any of this ‘winning?’

The mainstream media praised Trump when he claimed that he was saving 1,000 jobs at ‘Carrier.’ The layoffs continue and Carrier moved its plant to Mexico.

When Trump gave those infamous tax breaks to corporations like AT&T and Verizon, the two telecom giants claimed that the money would be passed on to bonuses for employees and infrastructure to increase their businesses and create jobs. Never happened. CEOs kept the money and laid off workers.

Pepsi executives pocketed the tax breaks and laid off workers.

Huggies and Kleenex followed the lead of other major corporations and laid off 5,000 employees.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Tenet Healthcare, General Motors, Ford, Pfizer, Harley Davidson, Walmart, and Citibank all placed the increased profits in offshore accounts while laying off employees and in some cases moving plants to foreign nations.

Financial institutions benefited from Trump’s “tax reform” to the sum of $21 billion. Some laid off employees. JPMorgan Chase and Co. and Nomura Holdings Inc. plan to layoff  hundreds of workers. Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank are planning a merger which will result in the layoff of as many as 30,000 employees. At least 14 other financial institutions are planning layoffs.

Beginning with Ronald Reagan, the last four Republican presidents instituted some form of “trickle-down economics,” and all failed. Instead of becoming ‘job creators,’ they laid off employees and pocketed the profits.

Under Republican administrations recessions are inevitable; “the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.”

Trump has no idea what he is doing. Millions of Americans failed our nation on November 8, 2016 when they voted for America’s biggest loser after failing to become informed about the man who received their votes. They continue to fit the definition of a ‘cult.’ They choose to believe every lie he tells them; and everything he says is a lie.

Trump is not “unusual;” Trump is a con man who has made fools out of every man and woman who voted for him.

Tell everyone, “the truth lives here.”
