There are only four Democratic candidates I support in 2020. None of them is Joe Biden. His age, combined with his record on race, and women’s rights are suspect at the very least.
Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders. Kamala Harris, and Pete Buttigieg are the only progressive candidates in the “group of ten.” However, I have a problem with Buttigieg; he has never served in our federal government. After Trump, Bush 43, and Reagan’s failures; Reagan in his second term; I made a decision never to vote for any man or woman who had not experienced the difficulties and challenges of working in Washington. That leaves three.
My first choice is Kamala Harris. She has the perfect combination of age, sex, experience, and her belief in progressive ideas. She also has a bonus; her mother is African American. Diversity is American.
My second would be Elizabeth Warren. I have admired her for years. My only concern is her age.
Bernie’s ideas for the future of America are nearly perfect. Once again, I am concerned about his age, but I also believe that it is time for a woman president.
Trump is typical of the old, white men who have harmed our nation and failed the majority of the American people for decades. Although Bernie is nothing like Trump, I believe it is time for real change.
Finally, I predicted months ago that Biden will never be the Democratic nominee; he must face too many questions. He is the “old guard,” and not in touch with America in the 21st century.
Don’t listen to the “experts;” they know nothing. Most of them are living in the past. It’s time to move forward and celebrate the ideas of progressives. Capitalism has failed the working class, and income inequality is destroying democracy. Issues including universal healthcare, free or affordable education for all, reforming our gun laws, and women’s rights are at the forefront of issues important to all Americans in 2020.
Tell everyone, “the truth lives here.”
