Every indicator predicts that only a progressive could win the Democratic nomination for the 2020 election early in 2019. Although the mainstream media showed Joe Biden leading by double digits early in the year, I made a prediction that he would not win the nomination.

A combination of questionable positions on racial issues and women’s rights made him a controversial candidate. Add to that fact his age. He is another old, white man who will be 78 years of age just 17 days after the election.

The latest polls show Senator Elizabeth Warren is supported by 34 percent of liberal voters, and Bernie Sanders with 22 percent. Kamala Harris is still in the picture; she is younger and would be a strong challenger for Trump. It appears that these three are now the only three possible candidates who could win the nomination.

The debates this month and next have become more important. By the first of the year the picture will become clearer.

Trump is self-destructing. He continues to reveal his true self and that’s not good for him or Republicans seeking reelection in 2020. Trump is the grumpy old racist who comics have characterized for decades. He is the perverted old uncle no one wants at Thanksgiving dinner.

The leading Democratic candidates appeal to a younger America and women. Millennials are the largest voting block in America. Our nation’s average age is 37.8. Women continue to dominate the population at nearly 52 percent. Change is coming and the old white men in Washington who continue to oppose this reality will either join the revolution or get the hell out of the way.

Change is inevitable and will offer our nation an opportunity to be great for the first time in its history.

Tell everyone; “the truth lives here.”
