Before the midterm elections in 2018, a large number of Republicans chose not to seek reelection. This phenomenon is continuing as the 2020 election nears. We’re not in the actual election year and 12 Republican members of the House are resigning from their elected positions and are not seeking office in another capacity.

All of these individuals offer similar reasons for retiring; family and personal responsibility. But what are the real reasons for refusing to seek reelection?

I can only assume their actual reasons. First, Republicans are extremely unpopular across America. Supporting Trump has proven to be a serious mistake. It makes them all appear to be liars and fascists. Losing an election is costly and embarrassing. Second, I’m hoping that some of these Representatives have found a conscience and hope to regain at least a portion of their dignity.

Trump has not only made fools of the members of his cult, he has destroyed what little was left of the once Grand Old Party. The name Republican has become synonymous with “hypocrite,” and even “loser.” The only positive effect of Trump’s illegitimate presidency is that he has confirmed what I have been saying for years. Right-wing politicians are racists, xenophobes, homophobes, sexists, and only support special interests. Republicans refuse to serve all 320 million Americans.

Real change will come on November 3, 2020. Real Americans will take back our country. We will be the reason democracy and the Constitution are once again revered in America. Please vote and encourage everyone to join you at the polls. On November 4, 2020, we will all have a reason to celebrate.

Tell everyone; “the truth lives here.”
