As Trump’s trade war with China begins to affect American consumers, the American people ask, “how long will it last?” Everyone wants to know, “who will win?”

The answer to the first question is, “ask Trump.” The only correct response to the second question is, “no one will win.” Tariffs were a very foolish idea and remain so.

For Trump, negotiating is a synonym for bullying. The child in the White House must learn that he cannot bully the second largest economy in the world. He should also learn a little about Chinese culture. Pride will not allow President Xi Jinping to submit to Trump’s demands.

When and if the trade war ends, Trump will have capitulated, although he’ll lie and claim he was the victor. The truth is that if Trump refuses to negotiate in good faith, America will enter another recession. Trump will follow the path of the last four Republican presidents and destroy the economy.

“Business Insider claims that the United States must agree to three demands from China.

1.“That the US respect China’s national sovereignty.

2.“That the US remove all tariffs it has imposed since the beginning of the trade war.

3.“That the US cease demanding that China buy an unrealistic amount of goods from the US.”

What frightens me is no one in Trump’s administration has the diplomatic ability to negotiate a trade deal which must be a compromise and serve both nations. In 44 previous administrations, the president and Secretary of State were the primary diplomats; not in Trump’s. Both Trump and Mike Pompeo have become targets of both laughter and anger.

Trump started this trade war, and only he can end it. However, his huge ego will prevent him from doing the right thing. Not once in his pitiful life has he admitted when he is wrong; and he’s always wrong.

Tell everyone; “the truth lives here.”
