The NRA gun lobby and the Republican Party made gun safety a political issue. Prior to 1976 the NRA would be at the forefront of the push to change our gun laws. For real Americans there is no debate; creating sensible gun laws is a public safety issue.

Surveys show that many Americans are afraid to go to a movie, a concert, a mall, a bar or restaurant. They are fearful that sending their children to school is a death sentence, or worshiping at the church, mosque, or synagogue of their choice will be the last thing they do on this earth. 

145 corporate CEOs signed a petition to make changes to our gun laws. The worst senator in America, Ted Cruz, is warning them to stay out of the discussion. Read this bullshit from one of America’s biggest hypocrites.

“I don’t think it’s a positive thing to see big corporations shifting their focus from their customers and actually doing what they were created to do into trying to become political players on divisive social issues,” Cruz said at a breakfast sponsored by the Christian Science Monitor.

First, why are all Republicans attempting to be like Trump? Why are they lying constantly, and attempting to misrepresent the truth?

I believe that big corporations should have become involved in this issue in 2012 after the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Their customers are also their neighbors and friends. They are not removing ‘their focus from their customers,’ this is a direct message to their customers that they care about the American people. Most importantly, they believe what I know; this is an important social issue and it is not divisive unless you are a Republican politician, an executive in the NRA gun lobby, or a gun manufacturer or gun seller.

Cruz is a disgrace, and the people of Texas made a serious mistake when he was reelected in 2018. Beto O’Rourke would have represented all Texans and not just special interests, including the NRA and the Christian religious right.

I beg the people of Texas to do the right thing. Senior Texas Senator John Cornyn is up for reelection in 2020. Let’s send this old white, male, racist into retirement. Turn Texas blue.

Tell everyone; “the truth lives here.”
