Is Emmanuel Macron Leading the Free World and Trump Following?

By James Turnage, author of “Sheena, Queen of the Streets”

Hailed as one of the best agreements in favor of the United States by experienced negotiators, the nuclear arms agreement between the United States and Iran was negated by Donald Trump and his unqualified administration.

Whether the tactic is tariffs or sanctions, Trump attempts to bully his adversaries. How’s that working so far?

French President, Emmanuel Macron offered a proposal at the G7 summit. He would offer the Iranian government a “$15 billion credit line” to ease the economic distress caused by Trump’s sanctions. This would be guaranteed by Iran’s vast oil reserves, and would require Iran to comply with the original agreement.

Insiders believe that Trump would be willing to agree to Macron’s plan.

Let me ask two questions. First, who is leading the free world? I believe it is Macron. Second, what do leaders of developed nations think about Trump?

In 2017 I wrote and op-ed that expressed by belief that for the first time in my life the President of the United States was no the “leader of the free world.” I think history has validated my claim.

Indications are that leaders of the European Union are angry with the fact that Trump created a trade war with China. Not only has it cost 300,000 jobs in America, affected American consumers with increased retail prices, there are forecasts for a recession in the U.S. and a possible worldwide financial crisis. To be blunt, the real leaders of the free world believe that Trump is stupid and unfit to wear the title of President of the United States. Real Americans agree.

“The truth lives here.”
