The Trump administration claims that pressure from Democrats to support some significant change in our gun laws will result in an announcement from Trump next week. I call ‘bullshit.’ Every time Trump claims that something will happen in the future, nothing happens.
In 2016 the NRA gun sales lobby donated more money to Trump than for any other presidential candidate in history. They paid for a part of his illegitimate election.
Trump is a greedy, white, immoral old man and will never “bite the hand that feeds him.” If you believe Trump about anything, you are as ignorant as the members of his cult.
On August 9th, after the tragedies in El Paso and Dayton, Trump said: “I’m talking about meaningful, write that word, meaningful, meaningful background checks.” A few days later he reneged after a call from the President of the NRA gun sales lobby, Wayne LaPierre. He blamed “America’s mental health problem for the slaughter of innocents. This is the real Donald Trump.
If the executive and legislative branches of our government remain in control of a hypocritical Republican Party which is partially owned by the NRA, thousands more innocent Americans will be slaughtered by lone gunmen with military weapons in the next ten years. Trump has emboldened white supremacists and he and Moscow Mitch McConnell will serve their masters and continue to allow the traitors in the gun sales lobby to make millions of dollars at the cost of American lives.
“The truth lives here.”
