Mackinac Island, Michigan, was the sight of an epic Revolutionary War battle. To honor America’s fallen, and create a serene experience for tourists, no motorized vehicles have been allowed on the island for more than 100 years.
When Gerald Ford visited the island, he had the common sense to ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Sadly, the members of Trump’s corrupt and vile administration lack class and respect for any American treasure or tradition.
Mike Pence was on Mackinac Saturday to attend another event attended by old, white men who call themselves “Republicans.” Pence has no respect for tradition and is obviously worried about an assassination attempt as he continues to kiss the humongous derriere of the most hated man in the world. He arrived on the island with an eight-car motorcade. The people of Mackinac were not happy.
Ron Fournier is a Michigan native who is a former Washington bureau chief for the Associated Press. He called Pence’s lack of sensitivity “obscene.”
“Sacrilege,” he tweeted, adding that “no security expert would claim it’s necessary”.
Another local posted: “Even President Gerald Ford rode in a horse drawn carriage. Is there no limit to the crass elitist raised middle finger to America?”
The truth is that Trump and his circle of sinners believe they are royalty or members of a dictatorial regime.
Every day I, and millions of other Americans, find more reasons to despise the Trump administration. They are trash and have no respect for, or love of, their country.
Finally, Michigan was one of the three states which gave Trump a slim win in the Electoral College. Would you like to make a wager which candidate wins Michigan in 2020?
“The truth lives here;” spread the word.
