Old, white men hate change. Trump has proven that he and most of America’s billionaires would choose to live in the past if we allowed them. The fact that the average age in America is 38.2 years of age, and in most nations, that number is lower demands real change in the governments of every nation. As old, white billionaires like the Koch brothers, Sheldon Adelson, Trump, and others begin to leave the earth, younger women and men will replace them. They will be less greedy and more people oriented. Racism will finally begin to become just a nightmare, and diversity will control the future of nations.
When 16-year-old Greta Thunberg spoke before the United Nations General Assembly, she scared the hell out of billionaires around the world. Telling the truth about climate change frightened the biggest polluters; the owners of the largest companies in the world.
Old men around the world deny the facts for one reason; the drastic changes in the world’s weather, which have already begun, will not affect them; they will be in their exclusive mausoleums when the worst happens. Younger women and men will suffer from the failures of the wealthy to care for our planet’s future.
A typical example of a billionaire who would have the world’s people believe that climate change caused by man’s use of fossil fuels is as dangerous as reported by Ms. Thunberg and others is LVMH Chairman, Bernard Arnault. You cannot trust a billionaire to do the right thing.
“She’s a dynamic young girl, but she’s surrendering completely to catastrophism,” Arnault, France’s richest man, said Wednesday. “I find that her views are demoralizing for young people.”
He supports big oil and other companies who deny the future; they are the past. “If we don’t want to go backwards, we still need growth.”
I agree with Ms. Thunberg. “We are at the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of endless economic growth,” Thunberg said.
It’s time to face the truth; capitalism has failed the working class and our planet. Greed has replaced the “golden rule” of doing the right thing; “treat others as you would like to be treated.” The future is ours, and it is not in the success of the fossil fuel industry which continues to be subsidized by our nation’s government. Unforgivable.
“The truth lives here.”
