I have two blogs; this one and “Ask Reverend Jim.” It came first, years ago, but I will no longer be involved in its success or failure. I previously posted articles from that blog on Facebook. I have decided to boycott Mark Zuckerberg’s failing piece of trash. He supports right-wing purchases of false advertising although he knows they are blatant falsehoods. He is completely aware that these lies could influence voters and aid Trump in his reelection effort. This is not an issue about free speech and the first amendment; this is pure fraud. This is a disservice to the American people.
Facebook chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said in an interview he worries “about an erosion of truth” online but defended the policy that allows politicians to peddle ads containing misrepresentations and lies on his social network, a stance that has sparked an outcry during the 2020 presidential campaign.
“People worry, and I worry deeply, too, about an erosion of truth,” Zuckerberg told The Washington Post ahead of a speech Thursday at Georgetown University. “At the same time, I don’t think people want to live in a world where you can only say things that tech companies decide are 100 percent true. And I think that those tensions are something we have to live with.”
This is not “allowing everyone to have an opinion;” this is a concerted effort to copy Russia’s efforts in our 2016 election.
The truth is that Zuckerberg’s editor in charge of ‘standards and practices’ was a right wing operative until she joined Facebook in 2015. She once worked for Rudy Giuliani’s campaign.
Can you add two and two?
