What is the purpose of our democratic republic form of government? America is not a true ‘democracy;’ we do not vote directly for the laws or policies which rule over our nation. We elect women and men who represent us in Washington. We expect them to vote according to the needs and wishes of the electorate. We also have a right to expect them to be honest and transparent while serving at the pleasure of the American people. Now, here’s how it actually operates.
Once elected, one entire party and some Democrats use their positions to enhance their own quality of life. They vote for issues based on the instructions of lobbyists who work for large corporations and other special interests, including the NRA and the Christian religious right. The campaign promises they made during their campaigns have been cast aside; they never meant what they said in the first place.
Just like their leader, Trumpenstein, if their lips are moving, they are lying. If Congress doesn’t want us to know the truth about an issue, it become “classified” based on ‘national security.’ Transparency is virtually non-existent in our nation’s capital. We learned late last year the Congress has a “slush fund” for its members to protect them from “whistleblowers” who charge them with sexual harassment or harassment in the workplace.
Trump has failed to tell the truth once in two years, nine months and 13 days. For me, elected officials lying to the American people is an unforgivable sin; worse than any other I can imagine. I consider this the ultimate crime against the people or this nation.
America belongs to the people; not the government. If we can’t trust the women and men we elect, they must be removed from Washington. With Trump’s illegitimate gift from the Electoral College, we know that he, Mike Pence, Moscow Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, John Cornyn, Ted Cruz, Chuck Grassley, Susan Collins, and dozens of other Republicans lie to voters constantly. Kicking their ungrateful a**es out of Washington is mandatory if our nation is to be saved.
Think, and do your research before you vote. If you vote for a party, and not the best candidate, you are not only ignorant, you are causing irreversible harm to your family and friends. It’s not only your choice; it’s your responsibility.
I am boycotting Facebook, so I ask you to tell others about my blog; the truth lives here.
