Is it Possible to Turn Kentucky ‘Purple,’ or even ‘Blue?’

mcconnell

Yesterday a dream came true for real Americans, as the right-wing experienced a nightmare. A Democrat became the Governor-elect of the very red state of Kentucky.

I admit that when Andy Beshear was declared the winner, defeating Matt Bevin, as a liberal-Independent, I was very pleased. However, I am a pragmatist. I am aware that Bevin recently received the dubious “honor” of being voted “the worst governor in America.” His policies are destructive and extremely harmful to the citizens of his state who are low-income, or struggle to survive below the poverty line. He has proven without a doubt that he is a racist and a bigot.

Therefore, I must ask the question; “did the people of Kentucky vote for Beshear or against Bevin? The truth is that is was likely a combination of the two.

The defeat of a Republican governor in a red state may be significant. In Kentucky, the Democratic Party is already tweeting a dream for our nation’s future. As of Wednesday morning, the hashtag “MoscowMitchIsNext,” had nearly 5,000 tweets tied to it with people expressing their opinion that McConnell should be worried about his place in the Senate.

McConnell is the reason our government is dysfunctional. Without honest deliberation of the issues, compromise, and an eventual vote which will decide the outcome, democracy cannot exist in Washington. In January of 2009 Moscow Mitch promised that his party would do nothing; he has kept that promise. Since January of 2017 the House has passed well over 200 bills; Moscow Mitch has refused to allow a vote in the senate on any of them. This is obstruction of justice and a complete dismissal of the will of the people. Moscow Mitch is a traitor to the people of Kentucky and the United States.

Removing Moscow Mitch from his position as Senate Majority Leader would restore common sense and democracy to the Capitol Building in Washington.

I can dream.

I chose to boycott Facebook and not post my articles on the pro-Trump social media. Therefore, I ask you to tell others about my blog; the truth lives here.
