As an Independent, one of my greatest disappointments is the hypocrisy and treason of Lindsey Graham. Before the death of the last true Republican of the 20th and 21st century, John McCain, Graham joined right-wing extremists and abandoned the principles I believed he shared with Senator McCain.
Today Graham is just another suck-up to Donald Trump. He lies and makes ludicrous attempts to protect the fascist in the White House. He is either senile, has simply lost his f**king mind. Any man or woman with average intelligence is fully aware the Trump is the worst thing to happen not only to America, but to the world in history. Over time, the orange man has become a greater danger to world peace than Adolf Hitler. His choice to be ignorant and reject the facts about climate change pose a danger never experienced before to the entire planet.
With impeachment becoming a reality, and a failed illegitimate president who is far too arrogant to do the right thing and resign, Graham is desperate to defend his fuhrer.
“What I can tell you about the Trump policy toward Ukraine: It was incoherent, it depends on who you talk to, they seem to be incapable of forming a quid pro quo, so no I find the whole process to be a sham and I’m not going to legitimize it.”
Is this old, white man from South Carolina attempting to claim that the chaos in the White House makes it impossible to create a situation where ‘quid pro quo’ could be a reality?
Let’s get real. Trump is an autocrat. He takes no advice from his incompetent cabinet or any other adviser in the White House. He alone is responsible for every failure throughout his illegitimate presidency. If there is chaos, Trump is the only person responsible. The major complaint of the men and women who have been fired or resigned is that they never knew what to expect minute by minute. The madman who controls the White House is mentally incompetent and unfit to lead our nation.
Graham announced that he has chosen to be ignorant and not read the transcripts of testimony before Congress. He is in denial, and will never choose to learn the facts which moved the House to begin the impeachment process; doing the right thing required by the Constitution.
“I’ve written the whole process off,” said Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee. “I think this is a bunch of B.S.”
Hey, Graham; that’s not your job. Your job is to protect the people of America from enemies, ‘foreign and domestic;’ to uphold the Constitution. Trump is America’s enemy number one. He opposes every principle of our founding fathers and chooses to only support the parts of the Constitution which fit his personal goals.
“I’m not even interested in the whole concept here,” he said. “This to me is a manufactured issue, created by some unknown whistleblower who needs to be known, and the phone call is the basis for the impeachment allegation.”
Need I say that when Bill Clinton faced impeachment, Graham’s tone and reasoning were 180 degrees different than his appraisal of Trump’s coming indictment? The only synonym which matches today’s Republicans is “hypocrite.”
