The city of San Francisco recently proclaimed the NRA a “domestic terrorist organization.” Although this is mostly accurate, the gun lobby resented the label and fought back. The NRA filed a lawsuit against the city claiming they would not drop their litigation until the city “officially withdraws its unconstitutional threat and makes amends for the harm suffered by the NRA.” Today the NRA announced that it was dropping its claim against San Francisco.
The truth is that according to the definition of “aiding” and “abetting” the NRA fits perfectly. It protects and promotes the sale of military assault rifles; the choice of most domestic terrorists.
The truth; if white terrorists did not have access to these weapons of mass destruction, it would have been impossible for the cowardly assassin in Las Vegas to slaughter 58 people and injure 200 more. In Sutherland Springs, Texas, if the shooter did not have an assault rifle he would have been overpowered in that small church before he murdered 26 men, women, and children. On August 3rd of this year, without a military weapon, the murderer could not have taken the lives of 22 and injured 24 more men, women, and children in an El Paso mall.
The NRA’s motto should be truthful and state that “people with killing machines kill people.”
The truth is denied by the right-wing and gun nuts across America. The NRA doesn’t give a damn about the second amendment or gun safety in America. They are employed by gun manufacturers and gun sellers. Their only goal is to increase the profits of these groups. It is another situation of ‘profit before people.’ People don’t matter but money does.
America has been changing for nearly 40 years, and not in a good way. The ever-growing influence of extremists on the right-wing of our nation’s political structure has resulted in the ambitions of special interests taking precedence over the needs of the American people. There are no Republicans left in Washington. John McCain was the last of an already diminishing breed. This group of self-serving hypocrites must be labeled “Republicans in name only.”
If you care about yourself, your family, and the friends you love, you must vote on November 3, 2020. Your future and the future of your country will be decided on a single day of revolutionary actions by true Americans; their precious right to vote
