On Friday, Trump released the transcript of a ‘first call’ to Ukraine President Zelensky. It has been proven that a part of that transcript is a forgery; a repeat of the information released in the impeachable ‘second call,’ and a few of what the Trump administration calls ‘alternative facts.’

Trump claimed several parts of the conversation which were non-existent.

“Nowhere does Trump mention efforts to address Ukrainian corruption, economic prosperity, or democratic institutions. Nor does he even allude to its efforts to beat back the Russian occupation of the Ukrainian territory of Crimea.” This according to an article in ‘The Daily Beast.’

Let’s get to what really matters; the ‘first call’ has no relationship to the second call which contained an impeachable offense. Testimony on Wednesday and today confirm not only one Constitutional violation, but several more involving threats to public officials and obstruction of justice by preventing testimony from Trump supporters although they had been subpoenaed by Congress.

My only complaint is “why wasn’t Trump impeached two years ago.” He attempted to violate the Constitution nearly once every day since January 20, 2017. Oh, I remember; Republicans controlled both houses of Congress until January 3, 2019. We couldn’t expect these Republicans in name only to do the right thing.
