Fiona Hill was previously Trump’s Russian adviser in the White House. Today Ms. Hill testified before the House about her knowledge related to the reasons for impeaching Donald Trump.
Her opening statement included a debunk of Republican’s failed efforts to cast doubt about Vladimir Putin’s interference in our 2016 election; although every security agency in the United States confirmed the facts long ago.
“This is a fictional narrative that has been perpetrated and propagated by the Russian security services,” Hill said in her opening statement.
Trump’s number one ‘brown nose’ in the House, Devin Nunes, continually makes false allegations claiming the somehow Ukraine was the nation that interfered in our election in support of Hillary Clinton. Unless you are a member of Trump’s cult, you are aware of how pitiful this lie has become.
“Some of you on this committee appear to believe that Russia and its security services did not conduct a campaign against our country,” she said.
Later, she added: “The unfortunate truth is that Russia was the foreign power that systematically attacked our democratic institutions,” Hill said. “It is beyond dispute.”
David Holmes, a U.S. diplomat, also testified. He was deeply concerned about the efforts of Trump’s staff to intimidate a newly elected President Zelensky. They offered him military aid in exchange for damning information about the Biden family.
Ms. Hill also spoke about her deep concerns over the attempted coercion of President Zelensky.
At one point, Hill appears to endorse the impeachment investigation, saying that “if the president, or anyone else, impedes or subverts the national security of the United States in order to further domestic political or personal interests, that is more than worthy of your attention.”
Not one president who faced any form of scandal, or was accused of wrongdoing has received such a preponderance of evidence, mostly in the form of testimony from qualified members of the State Department, as Donald Trump. The most convincing testimony came for Gordon Sondland, Ambassador to the European Union, personally appointed by Trump after Sondland donated one-million dollars to his inauguration fund.
On a personal note, watching Nunes roll his eyes in desperation after 45 minutes of serious allegations was one hell of a lot of fun.
