Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been charged with several crimes. Mr. Netanyahu is alleged to have accepted gifts from wealthy businessmen and dispensed favors to try to get more positive press coverage. If this appears to have similarities to why Trump is facing impeachment, it’s because it does.

Netanyahu is one of the would-be autocrats Trump admires. They have a lot in common; both are old, white men who are racist and bigoted, and both men are criminals who believe they are above the law.

Trump calls the investigations into his past and present “witch hunts.” Netanyahu calls the indictments a “coup.”

“I will continue to lead the country, according to the letter of the law,” he added.

During a 15-minute tirade, Netanyahu accused the judiciary, police and others of plotting against him with “politically motivated” allegations.

“In this tainted process the investigators weren’t after the truth, they were after me,” he said, accusing investigators of extorting witnesses to lie.

Netanyahu is the reason why there will never be peace in the Middle East. He has refused to talk with Palestinian leaders, and unequivocally rejects the idea of Palestinian statehood.

Nearly every nation in the world with the exception of Israel and the United States supports the people of Palestine and their desire to be recognized as an autonomous State.

Israel has been supported by America since its beginning in 1948. However, Netanyahu is not our friend. Like Trump, his personal ambitions exceed his desire to serve the people of his country.
