Trump is famous, or more accurately ‘infamous,’ for attacking his adversaries and critics with demeaning terms and failed attempts at humor. This week at the NATO meetings in England, it was his turn to be mocked by world leaders.

A camera caught French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and British Prime Minister Boris Johnson huddled together in laughter; apparently mocking your illegitimate president.

Trump’s embarrassing demeanor at the meetings are indeed laughable. His actions reveal a schoolyard bully who lacks diplomatic skills, or the intelligence to carefully deliberate the issues facing this extremely important organization of western states.

Most Americans have no idea how important NATO is. Without this alliance it is an enormous probability that a third world war would already have taken place. The most important part of the agreement is article 5; if one member nation is attacked, all nations are attacked. A unified United States, Germany, Britain, France, Italy, and others would be a far greater threat than any single nation could withstand.

Trump began attacking NATO early in 2017. It is important to note that one of Vladimir Putin’s lifetime goals is to place a wedge between the United States and its allies. Isolating America would result in a vulnerable nation which could not survive without outside assistance. Trump’s “America First” is a giant step towards isolation. The orange man has intentionally disrespected the leaders of our allies in an obvious effort to destroy NATO.

For 240 years the President of the United States has been considered the leader of the free world. As the largest military power in the world, and as the previously most respected nation in the world, America’s leader was deserving of that level of leadership. However, under Trump’s administration America is no longer respected, and his alienation of our military leaders brings to question the effectiveness of our military under this current incompetent commander-in-chief. Trump is not a leader; bullies use tactics including threats, bribery, and coercion in a feeble effort to accomplish their goals

European leaders are now more respected than America’s current buffoon in the White House. Trump has placed his nation; a nation of 330 million men, women, and children; in greater danger than at any other time in my 73 years.
