If you ever watch television, you have seen ads for ‘title loans,’ and ‘payday loans.’ It is common knowledge that these companies have a single goal; to keep their ‘clients’ paying interest ad infinitum. Trump and Fox Noise continue to brag about ‘the economy.’ The reality is that good paying jobs are difficult to find in America. Part time employment has become the norm, and benefits have become minimal.

Unless you are one of the 704 billionaires or 18.6 million millionaires in America, you are not enjoying the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution. To provide for their families millions of Americans have resorted to seeking ‘payday loans’ or other ‘short term’ loans. Here’s what’s happening in one state.

“The average interest rate for a payday loan in Utah is 652%, according to the Center for Responsible Lending. On Thursday, Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Bernie Sanders said that simply doesn’t cut it. ‘70-year-old Vietnam veterans are being jailed for not being able to keep up,’ Sanders said in a scathing tweet.”

Why are these companies allowed to create these situations which have frequently forced hard working Americans into legal actions? Some find themselves incarcerated because they cannot pay back their loans.

The truth is simple. Like other corporations, these loan companies have lobbyists. Republicans receive millions of dollars each year from lobbies for their political campaigns. When legislation is introduced to curb these illegal and inhumane business practices, right-wing politicians vote against the American people and for the corporations.

One line from a movie describes Republicans in name only today, who are owned by special interests: “America is not a country, it’s a business.”

Trump is the head of the viper; Republicans are the body of the snake. Real change is needed to return the United States to the people. Removing every GOP politician possible from Washington and replacing them with women and men who will serve all 330 million Americans will save our nation and ‘preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution.’ If Republicans refuse to keep the oaths they took, we can keep them for our fellow Americans.

Election day is less than 11 months away. Please vote on November 3, 2020 and encourage everyone you know to do the same.
