Retiring Kentucky Governor, Matt Bevin, has been busy this year. In the last few weeks as the leader of the “Bluegrass State” he has pardoned more than 400 convicted criminals. It is understandable that he has received a great deal of criticism from law enforcement, but his latest action is under attack from everyone, especially parents of small children.

Bevin, ever the redneck and self-serving fake-Republican, pardoned Micah Schoettle, a 41-year-old man who was convicted of raping a 9-year-old last year.

Bevin, who claims that he believes in “second chances,” used his own medical knowledge, which is nothing, to free the convicted child rapist.

Appearing on WHAS, Bevin offered his personal rationalization for this heinous act.

Bevin’s justification: There was no physical evidence of abuse and the girl’s hymen was “intact.”

“There was zero evidence of that. This man was convicted purely on something that there’s no corroboration for,” Bevin told host Terry Meiners.

If he had bothered to consult the medical profession, he would have learned about his misconception. Instead, he emulated Trump and decided that he knows everything.

The paper on Thursday spoke to Dr. George Nichols, who served as Kentucky’s chief medical examiner for 20 years and is an expert at evaluating child abuse. He told the paper Bevin is categorically wrong in his assessment.

“Rape is not proved by hymen penetration,” Nichols said. “Rape is proved by phallic penetration …where the vaginal lips meet the outer surface of the vagina.”

Nichols didn’t stop there.

“[Bevin] not only doesn’t know the law, in my humble opinion, he clearly doesn’t know medicine and anatomy,” he said, underscoring to The Courier Journal that in his career as medical examiner he had worked under six consecutive governors, adding, “and fortunately I didn’t have to report to that asshole.”

When Trump pardoned one of the worst men in America, Joe Arpaio, I knew Republicans were ignorant, arrogant, and have no respect for the rule of law, or for public safety. Arpaio was alleged to have murdered several of the men he incarcerated, and was suspected of torture and neglecting his duties as the Sheriff of Maricopa County. He is one of the most infamous racists in America, and when Trump pardoned him for lesser crimes, I, and millions of others called ‘foul.’

Bevin is another ignorant southerner who is unfit to lead his state, or have any position in American politics. He should move to another country which shares his ignorant beliefs; possibly North Korea.
