In October an event called “Trumpstock” was held at a bar in Golden Valley, Arizona. The most extreme of right-wing nuts gathered to celebrate their leader who continues to defile the White House. Everyone was invited with the exception of Independents, Democrats, and non-partisan liberals.
They didn’t want to be called ‘white supremacists,’ or ‘white nationalists,’ but that’s exactly what they were.
“They label us white nationalists, or white supremacists,” volunteered Guy Taiho Decker, who drove from California to attend the event. A right-wing protester, he has previously been arrested on charges of making terrorist threats.
“There’s no such thing as a white supremacist, just like there’s no such thing as a unicorn,” Mr. Decker said. “We’re patriots.”
I think I’ve heard this before a few hundred times. However, if you believe that whites are superior to all other races. If you believe that the first amendment is out of touch with your vision of America. If every other topic of conversation is the greatness of the second amendment. And if you believe that choosing ignorance to support your personal desires is acceptable, it is applicable to call you and those with whom you associate ‘white supremacists.’ You are the definition of that term.
These extremists are motivated by Trump’s racism, Islamophobia, homophobia, sexism, and his determination to build a ‘doomed to fail’ wall. This is ignorance at its highest, or more accurately, lowest level.
Okay, all intelligent men and women believe that racism and bigotry are a sign of a low level of mental stability. Believing that a wall will end illegal immigration is even less realistic. Existing walls have been breached by cutting through the structures, tunneling under them, and with the use of acid which erodes concrete. Most importantly is one single fact which the right-wing and the mainstream media refuses to share with the American people. More than 95 percent of all men, women, and children who come to our nation and violate the law by choosing not to leave arrive in our airports and harbors. Men, women, and children from Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Mexico, South America, from every nation, arrive in our nation with visitor’s visas and simply never leave.
These are often terrorists, smugglers, drug traffickers, and even sex traffickers who have the funds necessary to maintain a life in America. The poor are rarely a threat to America’s security. If Trump knew what he was doing, he would work with immigration experts and secure our legal points of entry. Sadly, he doesn’t want to learn how to do his job.
The truth is that the greatest danger to the American people is white domestic terrorism. These “patriots” in Golden Valley, Arizona, and other areas of our nation, especially red states, are willing to maim or kill those who oppose their vile beliefs. Since Trump’s nomination by the Republican Party, hate crimes have risen more than 800 percent. More mass shootings occurred in 2019 than during any other year in history. Under Trump’s “watch,” the number of incidents, and the death counts have been higher than under any other president in history. Most mass shootings are credited to racists and bigots.
Finally, this is not a surprise. During every Trump hate rally, he encourages anger, hatred and violence. He openly tells his supporters to physically harm anyone in the crowd who verbally attacks the schoolyard bully. This is the “Trump effect.”
