How many people does it take to help Trump violate the Constitution? (No, this does not require the comic response, “how many.) The list keeps growing every day. The latest involves Lev Parnas, a man under indictment for attempting to interfere in our nation’s elections, and Robert Hyde, a congressional candidate from Connecticut. According to handwritten letters and texts the two men colluded in the stalking of America’s Ukraine Ambassador, Marie Yovanovitch.
Yovanovitch refused to help Trump in his efforts to coerce Ukraine President Zelinsky into beginning an investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden. It has been assumed that she was prepared to report this illegal action to her superiors. When Trump became aware of a possible threat from Ambassador Yovanovitch he fired her and ordered her to return to the United States immediately.
Following the information offered by Parnas, it has been confirmed that Trump’s personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani, Hyde, Trump, and possibly Mike Pence had a role in the conspiracy.
Today the FBI raided Hyde’s office and residence. The Chairman of the Connecticut Republican Party, along with House GOP leaders have called for his withdrawal from his bid for Congress.
“It’s not helpful to the President. It’s not helpful to other Republican candidates. And it provides an opportunity for Democrats to raise money. It allows the opposition to label all Republicans with these comments,” J.R. Romano told CNN on Wednesday.
I believe Hyde fits perfectly with Trump, Giuliani, and other weak-minded and arrogant traitors to the Constitution. He should be standing by the orange man-child’s side every day of his life.
The list of players in this comedy/tragedy continues to grow. It began with Trump, Bannon, Priebus, and Sessions. When Robert Mueller began his investigation, many more were added, including Manafort, Flynn, and other members of his campaign staff. Controversies surrounded his entire Klan, including Ivanka, Donny Jr., and Kushner. When his personal attorney, Michael Cohen was charged with crimes, names including Stormy Daniels, and Karen McDougal were added.
Meanwhile, more women accused Trump of sexual assault in the past, and his business dealings were filled with controversy. Did I call it a “phone book of degenerates?” I meant to. Vladimir Putin, his oligarchs, and the Saudi Royal Family were all confirmed as players in this real life drama.
Trump is guilty of numerous crimes and violations of the Constitution. I have lost count of how many times he lied to his supporters and the American people.
The truth is that the Ukraine situation is just the tip of the iceberg. With every passing day more of Trump’s ethical violations and criminal acts are discovered. He should have been removed from office in 2017 by his own party by the invocation of article 25. Now Democrats have been forced to do the right thing and convict him in the House for his refusal to obey his oath of office.
Republicans are living in a circus; a fantasyland where Trump is above the law and can do no wrong. Let’s teach these losers a lesson. Let’s show them that hoping Trump’s popularity among the worst of our nation will not be enough for them to remain in office. Vote all Republicans out of office on November 3rd and take your country back.
It belongs to us, not them.
