Monday evening Michael Moore was a guest on “Late Night with Seth Myers.” As always, he is interesting, offers insight and accurate information, and his prophecies are often eerily accurate.

During his discussion with Myers, he suggested that Democrats offer an all-woman ticket in 2020. I have been saying this for a long time, and for the same reasons Moore suggested.

I have long believed that an Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris would be unbeatable. Long-time politicos claim that an all-woman ticket could not win. I, like Moore, believe just the opposite.

First; the turnout for women would be historical. A Warren/Harris ticket could receive as much as 80 percent of all women voters. Remember, women compose 51 percent of the population.

Second; millennials and other young voters would strongly support these women. They are generally more progressive, and social issues are at the top of their priority lists. Millennials are the largest single voting bloc.

Now for the fun part. Both Trump and Pence would be furious and extremely frightened. Neither of these old, white men have the ability to deal with intelligent, strong women. The debates would be horribly one-sided.

To be very serious, Senator Warren and Senator Harris would perfectly complement each other. Both women are progressive and share visions of universal healthcare, free education for all, sensible gun and immigration reform, aggressive efforts to slow or stop climate change, and the restoration of America’s place in the world.

For decades I professed my belief that America needs a woman president. It would signify real change in America if the Democratic ticket consisted of two very strong, very intelligent, and very forward thinking women.

For the last three years Trump’s policies have taken our nation backwards. White supremacists have come out of the swamps, from under rocks, and out of the shadows emboldened by their leader who continues to defile our nation’s White House. Most of the efforts of a two-term Obama administration have been undone. A country on its way to greatness has become a dark and dangerous place. Domestic, white terrorists are the greatest danger to America’s citizens. Trump distanced our nation from its closest allies, and continues to admire leaders of nations who are our enemies.

Change, real change, is not necessary, it is mandatory if our Constitution is to be saved. Trump has proven to be the greatest danger to America in history. He cannot be allowed to remain in office at any cost.
