Here’s a simple, irrefutable fact; Trump is guilty of the Constitutional violations for which he was charged and much more. Because he obstructed justice multiple times by refusing to allow witnesses subpoenaed by the House to testify, and because Moscow Mitch refused to allow witnesses in the senate trial, the facts of this case were hidden from the American people.
The only possible reason is guilt. An honest man never needs to hide the truth.
Today was a very dark and frightening day for our young nation; a day which may be the impetus for the end of democracy in America. Hypocritical and cowardly Republicans voted to acquit Trump on two counts 52-48 and 53-47. The golden rule; doing the right thing; has been discarded as Republicans served Trump and Moscow Mitch, spit on the Constitution, and told 75 percent of the American people that they are of no importance. Remember this fact on November 3rd.
Once and for all this Republican Party in name only proved that they are traitors to the American people. The future of our nation is unimportant; their party remains priority number one.
Nancy Pelosi said it best.
“President Trump was impeached with the support of a majority of the American people – a first in our nation’s history,” Pelosi said, referring to the House of Representatives’ December vote.
“Sadly, because of the Republican Senate’s betrayal of the Constitution, the President remains an ongoing threat to American democracy.”
She added: “The House will continue to protect and defend the checks and balances in the Constitution that defend our Republic.” And Republicans in the senate will continue to serve the criminal in the White House.
We have two major parties in America. One; Republicans; are devoted to retaining power by bowing to the demands of special interests. Their nation and the people of our country be damned. Democrats are becoming the party of change and progress as they move further to the left. We have a choice. As voters, we have the power to save America or allow a fascist regime to destroy the nation of our founding fathers. Today’s vote in the senate was a political ploy; a tactic we, the people, cannot condone or accept. With one exception, Mitt Romney, the former party of Lincoln is now a disgrace to America.
If you are infuriated by the fact that the “leader of the Washington Mafia” was allowed to remain above the law today, do not despair. After the orange buffoon is removed from office he can be charged for his crimes in federal court. If Gerald Ford had not denied the rights of the American people by pardoning Richard Nixon, he could have been charged for his crimes. Contrary to the beliefs of Trump and Moscow Mitch, a president is not above the law.
America is a nation of laws. Any man or woman who violates the Constitution, state or federal laws, is subject to prosecution for their crimes.
My dream is to see Trump and the Trump Klan in orange jumpsuits. This would be the greatest episode of ‘Law and Order’ in history. More importantly, it would be a victory for the authors of the Constitution.
