Looks like I was Wrong; there is one Real Republican Left in the GOP

Romney

Some politicos are calling Mitt Romney a “maverick.” I believe he is the only Republican in the House or Senate.

I have written multiple times the with the death of Arizona Senator John McCain, there were no more Republicans left on the right side of the aisle. As the sole Republican senator who voted to impeach Trump on one count of the charges, Senator Romney proved me wrong. He is the sole member of the right-wing who continues to believe in the Constitution.

Romney acknowledged that he received enormous political pressure to obey Trump and Moscow Mitch.

“In the last several weeks, I have received numerous calls and texts, many demanding, in their words, I ‘stand with the team.’ I can assure you that that thought has been very much on my mind,” he said. “I support a great deal of what the President has done. I have voted with him 80% of the time.”

I offered the reason why he chose to simply do the right thing.

“My faith is at the heart of who I am,” he said, taking a long pause in which he appeared to be overcome with emotion before continuing. “I take an oath before God as enormously consequential.”

The truth is that every fake-Republican is also a fake Christian. Choosing not to follow the ‘golden rule,’ as instructed by Jesus Christ voids their claims to believe in God and God’s law. Jesus told his follower to “treat one another as you would have them treat you.” This simply means do the right thing and your conscience will be clean; you will have nothing to hide. This cannot be said about today’s Republican Party in name only.

I must let my readers know that I did not vote for Mitt Romney in the 2012 election. I believed then and continue to believe that Barrack Obama was the better choice. His integrity, intelligence, and choices for close advisers resulted in good decisions for our nation’s people. I must admit that I did not always agree with President Obama; no one is perfect. What is most important is that I agreed with his overall principles and vision for our nation’s future.

The same was true in 2008. My respect for Senator McCain was genuine; he earned it. However, choosing Sarah Palin prevented me to vote for him. She is the exact opposite of the late Senator McCain. She is without morals and lacked average intelligence. I realized immediately that this unfit extremist would be our nation’s president if Senator McCain had become physically incapable of performing his duties.

In 2012 I also believed that Paul Ryan was an inferior choice as Romney’s running mate. Ryan lied constantly to the American people. Lyin Ryan proved me correct after Trump won the Electoral College in 2016. One of Trump’s biggest critics, Ryan abandoned his principles and morals and served his master without question.

Any man or woman who claims to be a Republican must realize that there is new leader of the Grand Old Party. Trump is not a Republican; Romney is. Anyone who continues to support Trump on the right side of the aisle is a member of the Trump Party; not a Republican.
