It’s not a good thing, but it’s a fact; Republicans almost always stick together, no matter how serious and how fallacious the subject might be. In Washington only a single Republican had the courage to be truthful and do the right thing.
Here’s the shocker; two members of the Fox “News” team refused to support Trump’s lies and found the impeachment trial in the senate a sham.
Chris Wallace, the only real journalist on Fox, has been true to his duty as a reporter most of the time. Naturally Trump attacked him. The truth remains the orange bully’s biggest enemy.
Legal analyst, Andrew Napolitano, called President Trump’s acquittal a “personal victory” for the president but a “legal assault on the Constitution” in a scathing op-ed published on Thursday.
“Trump will luxuriate in his victory. But the personal victory for him is a legal assault on the Constitution,” Napolitano wrote in the op-ed on FoxNews.com. “The president has taken an oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. Instead, he has trashed it.”
“How? By manipulating Senate Republicans to bar firsthand evidence and keep it from senatorial and public scrutiny, Trump and his Senate collaborators have insulated him and future presidents from the moral and constitutional truism that no president is above the law,” he continued. “Somewhere, Richard Nixon is smiling.”
Trump and the Trump Party really hates it when one of their own “tells it like it is.”
An impeachment is serious. Sadly, all members of the Trump Party made it a political event and refused to do their jobs. This was not an event focused on political gain or loss, it was a Constitutional obligation and the issue is whether or not a sitting president violated his oath of office. It’s clear that he did. With the exception of the only Republican remaining, Mitt Romney, the Trump Party failed their responsibility to protect the Constitution and acquitted the worst and most immoral man ever to live in the White House.
Trump cannot be allowed to continue spitting on the Constitution. If the law of the land is ignored by an entire party and its leader, they cannot remain in office. Save America and protect the Constitution; someone has to.
Vote on November 3rd.
