I read a headline from the Washington Post: “The Nevada caucuses are a corrupt spectacle.” I couldn’t read the article because I refuse to pay for a subscription. It’s not worth ten cents a copy.
This is pure bullshit. I participated in the Caucus yesterday as I did in 2016. I find a caucus to be the finest example of democracy in our nation today. It is the only ‘voting system’ where every man and woman is counted.
As far as “corruption,” I have never been involved in a less corrupt election process. I admit that the person who conducted the process in my precinct was not trained especially well, but she followed the rules and gave those who supported each candidate a fair opportunity to offer reasons why they chose that individual.
Unlike Republican events, there was no anger, no animosity, and no loud exchanges of opinion. It was civil and it was American. I challenge whoever wrote this fallacious article to actually participate in a democratic event and then offer an accurate opinion.
