Standard operating procedure: Fox is lying and Moscow Mitch McConnell is blaming Democrats for his own arrogance and failures.
It’s true that Democrats are blocking passage of the stimulus bill, but not because they don’t want to help the American people in these difficult times: it’s because they do. What they are fighting against is more taxpayer money going to corporations.
The bill Democrats refused to pass was created without a single Democrat’s participation. As written, it gives Trump’s unqualified and corporate stooge unlimited discretion distributing a massive $500 billion to big companies.
Last year major corporations including Walmart and Amazon paid zero dollars in taxes because Trump and Moscow Mitch passed a huge corporate tax reduction. The result added 1.2 trillion dollars to the national debt. Does anyone really believe that they need more “help?”
The bill was written with protections for the companies, but none for those who actually do the work. Moscow Mitch claims that there “is no time to write a good bill.”
“They’re throwing caution to the wind for average workers and people on Main Street and going balls to the wall for people on Wall Street,” said Sen. Joe Manchin. This bill has JOE MANCHIN sounding like Elizabeth Warren, if you need a clear sign of how bad it is. As for Warren, she tweeted, “Millions may now lose their jobs. And Trump wants our response to be a half-trillion-dollar slush fund to boost favored companies and corporate executives—while they continue to pull down huge paychecks and fire their workers.”
The coronavirus, and Trump’s failures to address the pandemic quickly and efficiently, are escalating the war between the rich and the working class.
Beginning with the Reagan administration our nation’s government placed special interests in priority number one. Every successive Republican president continued Reagan’s policy of ‘profit before people.’ It was Reagan who began the outrageous increase in military spending which is nearing an annual budget of one-trillion dollars. Let’s be clear, this continual increase is not necessary to protect America, it is a gift to those invested in the military industrial complex: another special interest. Fifty cents out of every dollar given to the Pentagon results in waste.
For reasons too lengthy to explain here, I oppose any stimulus package. However, one of those reasons is important to this article. For 38 months Trump has found ways to end our nation’s recovery from the great recession. Moscow Mitch and Trump are desperate to buy votes for the November election. The ‘stimulus’ package is just that.
The truth is Trump and Moscow Mitch don’t give a damn abut the health and welfare of the American people. This is all politics and an effort to remain in power.
Republicans are the enemy and we can defeat them on November 3rd.
