When you choose to use your intellect and common sense, but are surrounded by men and women who choose ignorance over fact, it is very frustrating. Many of us have experienced this at work or while participating in various organizations. Now imagine that you are a caring and hard-working democratic governor in a red state which has a Republican governor. What can you do to protect the people in your city from the coronavirus?

In states like Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, and Missouri, Republican governors are listening to Trump and ignoring the advice from Dr. Fauci and the CDC. The Governor of Texas is Greg Abbott. Refusing to order social distancing and stay at home rules has resulted in 3,266 cases and 41 deaths so far.

Republican politicians at all levels of government have proven that they are incapable of governing. However, they can’t be blamed for their failures, they were elected by ignorant voters, many of whom choose to cast their ballots for any candidate who has an “R” next to his or her name.

Fact: You are wasting your precious vote if you do not “do your homework” and investigate every candidate. It takes just minutes to learn about their positions on the issues important to you and those you love. Voting for a political party is a serious mistake and often damages our nation’s future. For example, the voters of Kentucky continue to reelect the old man who created the “party of no” and made our government dysfunctional. Moscow Mitch McConnell has done nothing which positively affects the people of Kentucky and the United States in over 40 years.

An informed voter is a danger to every unqualified politician. Refuse to believe the lies you hear on television. For most politicians, the truth is their biggest enemy.
