Let me begin with the ‘fourth estate’ and its responsibility to the American people. This expose begins with the first amendment and how today’s fake journalists are violating the rights guaranteed by the most important promises of our founding fathers.
One of America’s once considered most respected members of American journalism has become complicit in Trump’s constant lies to the American people. The men and women who will select our president on November 3rd will be influenced by what they see and hear on television.
The national press is still failing at one of its key responsibilities during a national crisis: alerting the public when a public figure is lying. The New York Times is once again receiving criticism for both-sidesing basic facts of the emergency we now face, this time over Donald Trump’s bizarre and nonsensical claim, in response to state governors asking for more COVID-19 tests, that he “had not heard about testing in weeks.”
Trump’s intended claim was that he had heard no complaints of the unavailability of tests in “weeks.” Given the devotion of Trump to his television set, that is self-evidently not true. The demand for test kits, swabs, and related materials has remained critical; in most recent numbers, of 18,000 tests run in New York, half came back positive, a sure sign that testing remains rationed to only the most obviously sick (or wealthy, but that is a different post) individuals.
The New York Times take on Trump’s claim? Trump “suggests” that an obviously false thing is true, while others “disagree.”
The truth is that the fourth estate is defunct. Money has corrupted the once respected group of Americans who were charged with exposing corruption in our nation’s government. Television “journalists” are all members of 18.6 million, millionaires who benefit from Trump’s fascist, anti-American policies. The men and women in power over today’s Americans are more concerned with their personal wealth than the future of our nation.
Trump would never have been elected by the Electoral College if television “news” had exposed him during the 2016 campaign season. Not the Russians or James Comey were as effective as the failure of the former fourth estate in supporting the worst possible candidate in history in his effort to win the 2016 election. I can only question the influence of Vladimir Putin in his effort to place his puppet in a position to destroy my America. The term is “profit before people.”
If you choose to watch television “news,” you are a tool of the right-wing. Our nation is under a systematical plan of destruction by right-wing extremists. Putin is in control of the executive branch of our government and our nation’s future is in the control of his puppet, Donald John Trump.
Your vote is the only weapon which can defeat Trump and his party in November. Your choice; your future.
