Fox’ Chris Wallace vs the Surgeon General

Wallace (3)

With very few exceptions, Fox Noise is nothing more than a propaganda machine for right-wing extremists. Chris Wallace, son of the late, great ’60 Minutes’ reporter, Mike Wallace, is the primary exception to the rule followed by Fox personalities of “sensationalism trumps the truth.” While integrity is lost for most of the men and women who appear on camera, Wallace is not afraid of incurring the wrath of your fascist illegitimate president, Donald John Trump.

Wallace’s guest on Sunday was Surgeon General, Jerome Adams. If Adams wants to retain his position, he is required to lie for his boss; your illegitimate president. Wallace is not bound by the same requirements.

The fake physician defended nine red states which refuse to apply the ‘stay at home’ rule which has lessened the spread of the virus. Adams compared the coronavirus to cigarette smoking. Wallace reminded Trump’s puppet that there is a difference; one is done by choice, the other acquired.

Adams fell into word salad by talking about a report on tobacco cessation released earlier this year. “And we know that states have different laws there. And more people will die, even in the worst projections, from cigarette smoking in this country than are going to die from — from coronavirus this year.  And so we always are struggling with trying to get information out to guide people that we know will help them be healthy with states’ rights.”

Wallace countered, “But, Doctor — but, Dr. Adams, there’s a big difference between opioids and cigarettes, which are something that people decide to use or not to use, and the coronavirus, which people catch. It’s not an individual choice.  And, you know, when President Trump says that he’s a wartime president, during World War II, FDR didn’t say, “Well, it’s up to each state to decide what to do.” He mobilized the nation. Again, why not a national stay-at-home order?  The coronavirus doesn’t recognize states’ rights, so does the federal analogy really work here?

Adams went on to defend “states rights” and attempted to misdirect the discussion towards changes in the actions various governors as the pandemic spread.

The truth is, Trump has no idea what’s happening and how to fight this battle. He is not a man of science and is way behind real leaders in America. The best thing that can happen during this crisis is to send Trump to one of his resorts and let him chase a little white ball with a stick. The more Trump attempts to do, he places the American people in greater danger.
