Our country has many things to be ashamed of: our history of racism, bigotry, misogyny, arrogance, and imperialism. After nearly 39 months of Trump’s illegitimate presidency he has proven that he is our nation’s greatest shame. The orange buffoon is opposed to our most treasured ideals and principles. The rich man’s president is destroying the freedoms of our nation’s people, and making the world a more dangerous place to live.
The goal of all previous 44 presidents was to maintain a productive relationship with our closest allies. After WWII every free nation became a member of NATO. NATO’s sole purpose was to prevent a third world war. Trump has alienated the leaders of nations who have been America’s friends for decades while forming an alliance with murderous dictators, including Vladimir Putin, Mohammad bin Salman, and Kim Jong-un.
White supremacists are celebrating Trump’s victory in the Electoral College. They have been seeking a leader in the White House for nearly 100 years. Trump’s hate-filled illegitimate presidency supports the worst of America: men and women who would destroy the first amendment.
Lies cause irreversible harm. Trump has failed to tell the truth once in his life. His failures are too numerous to count. He is mentally incompetent. Trump is an egomaniac whose malignant narcissism prevents him from admitting that his knowledge related to issues required from a United States President are non-existent.
Most importantly, he refuses to serve 330 million Americans. He is exclusively the president of the wealthy and his cult. This cult is based on prejudice and the destruction of the Bill of Rights.
It is not important to the fool in the Oval Office if you are a Republican in name only, a Democrat, or an Independent. If you refuse to bow to the blowhard, he will attack you personally with lies and ridiculously unsubstantiated accusations.
Enter Mitt Romney. The former Republican presidential candidate, who is now the junior senator from Iowa, committed the ultimate crime. He failed to rebuke Trump’s impeachment. Romney was the lone Republican senator to vote in favor of Trump’s removal from office. The truth is that Romney was the only Republican to stand up to the bullying of Donald Trump and Moscow Mitch McConnell and do the right thing. Romney believes in the importance of the Constitution.
Therefore, it was no surprise when the fool in the oval excluded Romney on Thursday from what was called a ‘focus group’ discussing how to reopen American business.
Several Democrats and every Republican senator received a phone call from the White House with the exception of Romney.
Just days ago, Trump claimed that he would make the final decision regarding the “reopening of America.” After someone on his depleted staff informed him that the 10th amendment gives state’s governors the right to make that decision, he claims that “he will allow governors to make the final decision.”
America has never been a great nation: it remains an experiment. Today, with an administration which denies science, the experiment is failing. White supremacists, xenophobes, misogynists, and other fascist supportive groups crawled from under rocks and slithered out of the cesspools after Trump was declared the Republican nominee in 2016. The Ku Klux Klan, the Aryan Brotherhood, the Proud Boys, and other hate groups are now openly challenging what makes America a respected country: our diversity.
The dream of our founding fathers will no longer exist if Trump is allowed to have another four years to destroy the nation created in 1776.
