The entire Republican Party has a single goal: protect Trump’s illegitimate presidency. This has been the situation since November 9, 2016. Hundreds of hypocritical politicians turned 180 degrees from being members of the “anyone but Trump” club to serving their fuhrer’s every demand. Fascism did not creep into America, it crashed through the front door and said, “get out of my way democracy, there’s a new bully in town.”
Trump is showing more desperation than ever. His only goal is to open the economy and protect the bloated profits of big business. No surprise, Republican governors in red states are falsifying data about the coronavirus to justify opening every business in total disregard for the lives of the people of their states. More profit before people.
In Georgia, Governor Brian Kemp is accused of altering records about the number of cases and the number of deaths related to the pandemic. After rigging his own election in 2018, this was predictable.
In Florida, Rebekah Jones was hired to create a database to accurately report information about Covid-19. Governor Ron DeSantis was unhappy with the results, not because her work wasn’t excellent, because he didn’t like the truth. She was fired and left without being paid for her efforts.
“I worked on it alone, sixteen hours a day for two months, most of which I was never paid for, and now that this has happened I’ll probably never get paid for,” she wrote in an email, confirming that she had not just been reassigned on May 5, but fired from her job as Geographic Information Systems manager for the Florida Department of Health.
In an email last Friday to researchers and other data users, Jones warned that with her removal changes were likely coming to the accessibility and transparency of the dashboard data.
“They are making a lot of changes. I would advise being diligent in your respective uses of this data,” she wrote.
Hiding the facts from our nation’s people has become standard operating procedure for the Republican Party. Sadly, Trump’s cult believes its leader and rejects the truth. The orange buffoon has created an army based on emotions of anger and hatred while encouraging them to commit violent acts on his behalf.
This is Trump’s ‘Amerika:’ is it yours? I hope not. I once loved my country very much. Trump makes it difficult today. I feel embarrassment and shame. We are no longer the “United” States of America, we are two countries. One continues to respect the Constitution and believe in the dreams of our founding fathers. The people of the other Amerika love Trump, not their former country.
